CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES

Class Details:

  • Duration of Work: May – August 2025
  • Time: Flexible before summer school 
  • Fixed schedule in August, must be onsite throughout summer school duration – 4 Aug – 22 Aug (Mon to Fri) 
  • Location: Wan Chai

Job Duties:

  • Assist in planning and organizing the summer school program, including scheduling classes, workshops, parents workshops and recreational activities.
  • Assist in developing a detailed timeline and action plan for the summer school, ensuring all tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with students, parents, volunteers and staff to provide information and answer inquiries regarding the summer school program.
  • Support the enrollment process by assisting with registration, handling paperwork, and maintaining accurate student records.
  • Coordinate logistics for classes, workshops, and field trips, including venue arrangements, transportation, and necessary equipment or materials.
  • Assist in preparing teaching materials, handouts, and other resources required for the summer school program. 
  • Provide on-site support during the summer school, ensuring classrooms are set up properly, materials are readily available, and technical equipment is functioning correctly.
  • Monitor student activities and behavior during classes and recreational periods, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of the program and identify areas for improvement.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, such as preparing reports, maintaining inventory, and managing communication channels.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children and parents.
  • Good organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with volunteers, students, parents, and staff.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interest in working with BOH.
  • Must be over Age 18. 


Date: 19th April 2025 (Sat)
Time: 8am – 7:30pm (3 shifts)
Location: Ma Wan Island, Main Beach (Google Map: https://maps.app.goo.gl/fkjFzS8Jo8KdVKZN8) 
– Each volunteer will receive an event t-shirt

Event Description: The Ma Wan Easter Egg Hunt is a large-scale charitable fundraising event located on the main beach of Ma Wan Island. It will aim to engage 1,600 participants in 8 rounds of egg hunting with redeemable prizes and a variety of activity booths. The event has two main goals, which are to raise funds for Branches of Hope and the communities it supports and to share the true meaning of Easter with our amazing participants. 

馬灣復活節採蛋節是一場大型慈善籌款活動,將邀請1,600名參與者進行8輪彩蛋尋寶,並以彩蛋兌換不同獎品,現場亦設有不同活動攤位及表演節目。每位義工將獲得一件採蛋節義工T恤,並會提供水、午餐和茶點。

日期:2025年4月19日(星期六)
時間:上午8點至下午7點30分(三節義工時數)

VOLUNTEER ENGLISH TEACHER (ROAD)

Class Details:

  • Time: Every Monday
  • Sessions: 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM or 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM
  • Location: The Vine Centre, Wan Chai

Requirements:

  • Experience teaching English to non-Chinese speaking communities
  • Familiarity with The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) Level A1 – B1
  • Experience working with non-refoulement claimants in Hong Kong is a plus

Job Duties:

  • Conduct assessments for new students to determine class levels
  • Design class structures
  • Prepare class materials and handouts
  • Conduct regular assessments to track learning progress

CASEWORK ASSISTANTS (STOP & ROAD)


INTERPRETERS (STOP & ROAD)

  • Provide interpretation service during meetings with trafficked individuals with limited English proficiency
  • Translate documents from English to the required languages for individuals who are seeking legal remedy

ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT (BOH)

  • Provide general office support, including clerical tasks, Maintaining files, sorting donations, and updating the office inventory under the guidance of the Office Manager
  • Assisting with data entry
  • Volunteers proficient in Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint lists, and Power Automate are preferred
  • At least 4 Hour per week during business hours (Monday-Friday, 9 AM-6 PM)


COMMUNICATIONS SUPPORT (BOH)

  • Manage and produce creative content for website, social media, publications
  • Help develop and maintain communication protocols internally and externally
  • Design Branches of Hope promotion materials
  • Design marketing strategy and campaign
  • Can work remotely
