WHO IS ROAD?

The Refugee Opportunity and Development Programme (ROAD), one of Branches of Hope’s initiatives, currently serves over 600 refugees and asylum seekers (non-refoulement claimants), mainly from Africa, Middle East and  South Asia living in Hong Kong. The mission of ROAD is to equip, educate, and empower individuals and families to become positive and contributing members of our community.

WHAT SERVICES DOES ROAD PROVIDE?

CARE

  • Emergency relief (i.e. accommodation assistance, financial assistance)
  • Medical and legal referral and support
  • Home and hospital visits
  • Counselling and support groups
  • Transportation subsidy

EMPOWERMENT

  • Education support for children and teenagers
  • Adult vocational training and practicum support
 

SOCIAL AWARENESS

  • Public education and partnership (i.e. with schools, corporations, and NGOs) 
  • Research and advocacy
  • Cross-cultural campaigns and events 

6 WAYS TO PARTNER WITH ROAD

  • Help refugees / non-refoulement claimants to learn a new culture
  • Donate & fundraise to support ROAD’s work
  • Spread the word and educate others – share refugee stories, follow BOH’s social media, invite our team to do talks at your organisation or school
  • Offer employment opportunities for refugees and substantiated claimants
  • Sponsor a refugee / non-refoulement claimant resettle to a third country
